I have several ancestors who appear in institutions, a hospital, a workhouse & an industrial school.
However no address appears on institutions so how can I identify what & where they are?

@Andy W: we think that this is caused by an issue called "caching". Basically, when you go to look at a web page, your browser or our server will often show you an older version of it in an effort to show you the page more quickly.

Here's how to fix it: Hitting the "Ctrl" and "F5" keys together should "clear your cache" and load you a fresh version of the page.

Hope that works - let us know if not. Incidentally this works on all websites - a useful trick, especially on blogs etc where the changes come think and fast!

iantester.....

Many thanks for your replies so far.

What I was asking about on another thread, was that for the last several days, when I went and looked at a blog, (this happened to more than 1), it said that there were say 12 comments, but when I went to look at them, only 8 appeared!.

This wasnt due to my pc, as the amount shown on the blog page said one number, and the actual blog page, another!.

Also, new items added, such as the update on release of the remaining counties, has only appeared tonight, but the date on it is earlier?.

Up to the 10th of Feb, the last blog I could see was the 27th of Jan one on the "Last week in numbers", but tonight several new ones have been added.

My mistake ignore the previous blog.
It's the line:

that causes the overlap I think.

I guess you are all using widescreen technology up there.
Switch to 1024x768 (the norm for design work at present) and do a search that will result in no matches.
You should see the response overlapping the search button. Just a mod on your css probably. Spoils a nicely designed GUI.

The following paragraph is taken from the 1911 Fertility Census

"In previous censuses, women were simply asked about the number of children they had at the time of the census. In the 1911 census women were asked about all children they had given birth; whether they were the children of current or previous marriages; and whether or not they were living or dead."

I have a copy of a census and I only see the number of children born to the present marriage. Nothing about children born previous to the marriage. Am I missing something.

This concerns me as one of my relatives that I feel quite sure was born to the person on this census is not not there.
