    Hi,

Can you tell me when the 1911 Welsh Census will be available

    Thanks

    Carol

  2. Helen Says:

Does this include the Channel Island ? If not, can you please advise when it might be available. Thanks kindly. Helen

  3. Carol Says:

If you had read the previous announcement you will see that they have already given us an update as to when the Welsh counties will be released.

“Scanning of Welsh records is well underway and we are working on the transcriptions of the first batch of Welsh counties, which will be the next data release. Although we do not have a precise release date for them yet, we anticipate that we will have some data from Wales available in the next 4 to 6 weeks.”

  4. Margaret Says:

Carol, it will probably be another 3 months or so according to a previous message/enquiry which said possibly in the summer. I am waiting for them too. Margaret, Tasmania

I am anxious to find out when I will be able to purchase a subscription…and how much the cost will be. Will the subscription be monthly, yearly or ?? Previously, I purchased a monthly subscription…sent from Canada by mail directly to FindMyPast. It worked out very well and I was online in no time. I have many branches of my family as well as my husband’s, in England and Wales which requires mega searching. With the cost of 30 credits per page….the cost to me would be hundreds of dollars (from Canada) . If I wish to see the whole family on the page - I understand it will cost me about $5 Canadian each page, am I right? I think a monthly fee would be perfect…renewable as one seaches, and can afford it. You would also tap into the researchers who cannot afford to pay out hundreds of dollars at once….and bit by bit could continue their research and FindMyPast would most likely enjoy a large new client base. I enjoyed FindMyPast and do hope you will take into consideration the above when planning for yearly/monthly subscriptions. In these days of economic woes, isn’t it better to have many many satisfied short term clients than a few longer term?

  6. Marie Says:

I do agree with Linda, a monthly sub would be very popular. I simply cannot afford to subscribe for a whole year, and the credits do not go very far.
I have found my immediate relatives using credits, but would like to view the entries for many more distant ones. I can’t afford to do so on credits though.

    Linda,

There has been loads of requests and questions about a subscription package, when? How much? etc. All they say is later in 2009. I do have my doubts, but like you I beleive they will have a even bigger customer base. They are proberly making more money out of us this way, and with still more areas to be put on line there is more money to make before a subsciption package is out.
I also like most cannot afford any more creidts but would happily pay a subscription package.
You never know they might tell us soon.

    Mark

The ability of the 1911 census web site to find institutions is far from efficient.
I have spent 280 credits to no effect after contacting the site “help” with no results, and much time trying to find a place on the site with any help!
I am disgusted with this lack of service,
The establishment is well known and was the home of several hundred individuals. I have only two roads it can be on and neither have had name changes it is easily found on 1901!
