Hi
Ive been trying since the launch of the 1911 census to find my great great grandparents, Hannah Elizabeth Jager and William Jager to no avail, is it possible that some records have been inadvertently left out? I was so excited for the 1911 census to get information on this branch of my family which I am struggling to research, very disappointed.

Any help would be very much appreciated, Ive even tried searching via Ancestry with just "Hannah" and her birth date, I thought maybe the surname could have been spelt wrong, I tried many variants of both forename and surname.

Thanks in advance, Joanne Clark

Correction to the above,

Sorry his wife was Jane Bell Marshall (not Ilderton). I can't find here either and she was born in 1910. Unless they both weren't at home at the time of the census... hmm will have to investigate that now. This Family Tree stuff is tricky to cross reference when trying to make sure you have the right person

Dear 1911 Census.

I'm trying to work out why my Grandad does not appear in the 1911 Census.

His name was James Robert Thurlow. Accoding to BMD Registry he was born in 1909 in Gateshead, however his Death Certificate (March 1985) advises that his DOB was 24/09/1908. No Birth record exists for James Robert Thurlow in BMD for 1908 in Gateshead.

To make things harder, he should appear in the 1911 Census as approx 2 years old but I get no results when I search.

His Wife was Jane Bell Ilderton but that didn't happen until 1935

Re: Edna Hannson
Hi everyone, thank you for searching! I've still not got anywhere in finding my great-grandma, but refuse to give up! There must be a link somewhere that she forgot to cover up!
Yes, I think the adopted idea is looking very likely. It would answer a lot of questions. Do you think there would be any adoption records from that time?
Also, does anyone know what documentation you needed to get married in 1920? (Eg birth cert.) Just in case she fabricated a few things!
Thanks again for your time searching everyone!

I have had two problems. They in fact relate to each of my grandmothers.

My maternal grandmother was cook in a large house. I have found her but the household was so large there must have been a continuation sheet which I can't find despite having asked for help on this.

In 1901 my grandmother was living with her widowed mother and younger brother at an address in Stockport. By 1911 she was married and had moved away. There is no sign anywhere of my great grandmotehr and great uncle in the 1911 census though I know both were still living. Somewhat significantly a whole raft of addresses in Stockport including the address where they were in 1901 is missing though the street is still there now. Were some records left off or have some been lost or destroyed?

I too am wondering when the Welsh counties will be online. I am particularly interested in Carmarthenshire, Glamorgan and Pembrokeshire.
