Now all the English counties are complete, we thought it would be useful to let you know the number of people found in each county: in decreasing size order. Note the huge comparative size of Lancashire and Yorkshire (West Riding).

Very interesting - firstly, would it be possible to compare this against the county totals published at the time? Secondly, are these physical counties or Registration Counties - very important as the discussion about the recent release of Gateshead data has shown.

@Paul: I’ve just posted a link to some of the original reports which should contain the original county breakdowns, but the numbers quoted here are for census counties rather than geographical ones, so there will be a mismatch.

Hey. This really is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other site visitors asked you how have the menu bar to appear like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really trying to change around the theme, however I am frightened to death to mess with it for fear of the various search engines punishing me. I am really new to doing this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here
